Cameron KargerGeneral Manager & Sommelier
Cameron Karger serves as General Manager and Sommelier for The Point, an inclusive year-round Relais & Châteaux estate and former Great Camp of William Avery Rockefeller II located on Upper Saranac Lake in New York’s Adirondack Park. Cameron is responsible for curating the wine cellar and closely collaborates with the Executive Chef to create stimulating wine pairings to compliment his impressive farm-to-table menus. Additionally, Cameron is involved in all aspects of guest relations, staff training and management. He joined the property in November 2010 as Assistant General Manager and was then promoted to General Manager in 2012.
Prior to his coming on board, Cameron served as Assistant General Manager, Beverage Director, Sommelier and Restaurant Manager at The Inn at Dos Brisas, one of only two Relais & Châteaux properties in Texas as well as the only Relais & Châteaux Grand Chef in the state.
Previously, Cameron served as Assistant Winemaker at Aubert Wines as well as Futo Wines, both located in the Napa Valley. He held positions at Bryant Family Winery and Colgin Cellars in St. Helena, The Little Nell in Aspen and Historic Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs. With his extensive culinary tenure and passion for wine, Cameron is the perfect person to oversee an ever growing wine cellar of 1,600 wine labels. Guests often comment on what a pleasure it is to experience the black tie evenings with Cameron as the ultimate host and wine connoisseur.
Cameron studied Viticulture and Oenology at Napa Valley College. He resides in Saranac Lake, NY with his wife and three sons.
