Evensong was Mrs. Rockefeller’s favorite. It is a lovely, beckoning room, filled with sunlight in the daytime and aglow with lamps and firelight at night. A fieldstone fireplace stands in the middle of a large, windowed alcove, facing a king- or twin-size beds (your preference). Oil paintings hang on the mellow, hand-waxed walls. A glass-topped dressing table has a classic curved stool, a big, elegant mirror and flattering lamps, perfect for getting ready in the evenings. Evensong’ bath is absolutely original, all tile and chrome, black painted wood floors, a water closet and a glass-walled tub with a center shower.
